Any book that got Kurt to do this is worthy of a post! 🙂
Thank you ‘View’ and Dr. Oz for peaking our interest so and introducing us to this cool book! I don’t do this often (ha-ha) but immediately following a TV interview with this author I got on Amazon.com and ordered this guy as fast as I could. I really like his philosophy that it takes small consistent changes in order to make huge changes in your health and quality of life. But I also just had to see how he backed up some of the claims he had made on national television.
The 4-Hour Body is the result of an obsessive quest, spanning more than a decade, to hack the human body. It contains the collective wisdom of hundreds of elite athletes, dozens of MDs, and thousands of hours of jaw-dropping personal experimentation. From Olympic training centers to black-market laboratories, from Silicon Valley to South Africa, Tim Ferriss, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek, fixated on one life-changing question:
For all things physical, what are the tiniest changes that produce the biggest results?
Thousands of tests later, this book contains the answers for both men and women.
From the gym to the bedroom, it’s all here, and it all works.
YOU WILL LEARN (in less than 30 minutes each)

Kurt and I have had a good time taking turns reading random chapters this past week. That’s another perk, you don’t have to read it front to back, you can read only what you’re interested in (but good luck stopping!)! Our friends and family will be the first to tell you that many a conversations have been started about the interesting findings we’ve uncovered through our new coffee table book! I can also report that every night you can find us doing 60-120 seconds of air squats in our living room… want to know why???? Check it out 😉
See you all on page 70 where I will be losing fat without working out, thank you!
Just a frustrating cute little Ava antic:
Ava is a major bedtime staller these days. She likes to go to bed, then about 15-30 minutes later start making requests. Last night I was at the very end of my rope and not trusting myself not to freak out, I just let Ava knock and knock on her bedroom door hoping that she would get bored and go back to bed. This had been going on for a fair amount of time when Kurt got home from band practice. Before I even had a chance to explain I had to pee and as I headed to the bathroom I saw Kurt heading for her room. Too tired to warn him that she was just going to make some crazy request (more water in her already full water bottle, having to pee- though she’s wearing a diaper, forgot to brush her teeth or wash her hands— yeah right Ava, like you even care about those things…) I just said a little prayer for him, stifled a laugh and let him go. This is what I overheard:
Kurt: (standing at her door opened a crack) Hi Ava. What do you need?
Ava: I just have a question.
Kurt: Ok, what is it?
Ava: Well….(30 second pause)….. Daisy fell ……..(30 second pause)…….on my bed………
Kurt: (interrupting what could very feasibly have turned into a 10 minute “question”) Ava, that’s not a question.
Dani: (hardly containing my violent laughter in the hallway)
Kurt:(closes and locks door)
AND not another peep the rest of the night… gosh! if only I’d known it was that easy- though I couldn’t have done it with a straight face…
Hello Blogworld . . . this is Kurt again! So, Asper Kourt’s network television debut will be airing this coming Sunday (May 2nd) at 11:00a.m. MST on The Food Network’s ‘What Would Brian Boitano Make?’. If you’ve never seen the show, it’s pretty entertaining. It seems that sometimes cooking is a secondary thought to the ‘adventures’ that Brian goes on (like his nephew’s band crashing at his ‘pad’ . . . :-D) but the recipes he cooked for our show were very good so you should give them a try! Here is a snip-its from his section of The Food Network website with a description of our episode. Also, Asper Kourt made the video at the top . . . it’s a good recap of what we did over that weekend in San Fran and has some spoilers in it . . .
Don’t forget to tune in this coming Sunday at 11:00a.m. to The Food Network!!! (Ch. 69 for all you Comcast-er’s)
In case anyone was worried that Kurt didn’t get to celebrate enough or blow out a candle or two or three on his birthday OR get a special ‘funfetti-cupcake’ bonfire celebration in San Diego, here are a few more birthday pics 🙂
I hope no one minds, but I have taken over Dani’s blogspot for one post to share Asper Kourt’s trip to San Francisco last week. It’s my first blog attempt so you all can just keep your constructive criticisms to yourself . . . 🙂
So, as a band, this has been on our radar for about the last year! I think I remember the first time our lead guitarist, Nate Boitano, said that his uncle (Brian Boitano) might like to have us on his new cooking show (on the FOOD NETWORK!) sometime. We were all really hoping that it would work out but, being fairly used to big things like this never coming to fruition we tried not to get our hopes up. Much to our surprise and excitement, during a show in Angel Fire about a month ago, Nate received an email from Uncle B asking if we were available to shoot an episode of his show in early March! Ummm, SHYEAHH!!!! Nate worked out all the details and we flew out to San Fran to film the last episode of the 2nd season of The Food Network’s “What Would Brian Boitano Make?” I’m sure this goes without saying but we had such a blast. We were picked up in a limo from the airport and the first class service never stopped the whole trip. Aside from getting to film the episode for the show, we all got our own hotel rooms, we got to go see a great band, Barcelona, perform at Slim’s, and we all got to shoot the breeze with the 1988 Olympic Men’s Figure Skating Gold Medal Winner. We all agreed that the Friday we spent in San Fran shooting the episode was the best day, as a band, we had ever had! Here are some pics for all the things we got to do:
Kicking off Kurt’s 27th Birthday Week!
‘Thanks for the help guys!”
Dad and Ave
Mom, Ava and Baby S (see we’re growing!)
Ava and Brody (Harry Potter?)
Ready… Set… GO!!! (Ava needed a turn with the glasses)
Our poor pillows 🙂
But they had so much fun running…
that we didn’t mind a bit! What a fun birthday party!
We love you Kurt!
